Seedbox.io (Now Hostingby.design) Review 2026

Update (August 2026): Seedbox.io no longer exists as a standalone brand. The domain now 301-redirects to Hostingby.design — a consolidation of several brands under HNielsen Technologies ApS (Denmark). Their own notice says it plainly: “same solid base, same team, same company behind, just a new structure.” This review covers what the service is today.

What Happened to Seedbox.io?

Seedbox.io (earlier still: Hostingor) was folded into Hostingby.design, the umbrella brand of HNielsen Technologies, which says it has been providing hosting since 2013 with “75 years of combined experience” in house. The old domain redirects; your searches for Seedbox.io land on the new site. This is a rebrand, not a shutdown — unlike UltraSeedbox, where the company actually disappeared.

App Hosting Plans (verified August 2026)

Storage Outgoing data Uplink Price
1 TB HDD 3 TB 10 Gbit+ €6.59
2 TB HDD 6 TB 10 Gbit+ €8.25
4 TB HDD 10 TB 10 Gbit+ €10.95
8 TB HDD 25 TB 10 Gbit+ €19.95
18 TB (dedicated disk) Unlimited 10 Gbit+ €39.95
28 TB (dedicated disk) Unlimited 50 Gbit €59.95

The app catalogue covers the standard stack: Plex, Emby, Jellyfin and Tautulli for media; the *arr suite (Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr) plus Ombi and Jackett for automation; several torrent clients including ruTorrent, and Usenet tools (SABnzbd, NZBGet); WireGuard and RClone round it out. Most are marked “official” with staff support.

What Works

Storage-per-euro is strong. 4 TB with a 10 Gbit uplink for €10.95 undercuts most of the mid-market, and the dedicated-disk tiers (18–28 TB, unlimited outgoing) are priced like storage boxes while keeping the app stack.

Wide app selection with staff support. The catalogue is broader than most budget hosts, and torrent client choice is genuinely open.

Instant, automated setup. The 2021-era complaint about 4-hour dedicated provisioning is gone from the shared product; app hosting provisions in minutes.

The Downsides

The transition is visibly unfinished. The site still shows “coming soon” links, mixed branding and a generic web-hosting front page that buries the seedbox product under “App hosting”. It works, but it does not inspire the confidence the old single-purpose brand did.

Outgoing-data caps on the value tiers. 3 TB of outgoing on the €6.59 plan is thin for serious seeding — the ratio math pushes real seeders at least two tiers up.

No refund promise we could verify. We found no money-back guarantee stated on the plan pages at verification time. Check the current Terms of Service before buying — rivals in this bracket offer 7–14 day guarantees.

Verdict: 7/10

Still a legitimate operation with some of the best storage-per-euro in the mid-market, now answering to a new name. Points off for the muddled transition and the capped outgoing data on entry tiers. If you were a Seedbox.io customer wondering where your host went — it’s here. If you’re choosing fresh, compare the field in Best Seedbox 2026; for unlimited downloads at a lower entry price, see Evoseedbox or budget pick Iseedfast.
